Working Culture
For my department, It is very normal to knock off at 7pm.In actual fact, I believe there is an unspoken fear about knocking off on the dot. Having done so will lead one to be tagged as someone not hardworking enough not helpful enough and sort. In fact, nobody will actually go off at 6pm on the dot, people would usually only start going home at about 6.20pm and later or so from my observations.

However, I believe once one is done with the day’s work and done asking around if anyone needs help one is not obligated and free to do as he or she pleases after office hours unless of course one have to stay back to rush assignments through and should not be held back because of such “rules” and to adhere to people’s weird expectations and beliefs.

YA RIGHT.YOU ONLY START ASKING FOR HELP AFTER YOU SAW MY JOURNAL.
YOU ALWAYS SAY YOU HAVE TONS TO DO BUT YOUR THE FIRST TO LEAVE. LAUGHABLE

Rather than stay back to conform and impress, I believe following Mr Knipp’s footsteps in asking for new tasks and knowledge when he is done with the day’s jobs will be a good choice . Much as I would love to, I believe it is not possible to do so in the events side as each and everyone is too caught up in their own load of work and would also not actually have the time to guide us as much as we would love to. Besides, they also do not really dare entrust us the interns to be deeply involved in the real work that they would have to do up.

Another point I would like to put my views across would be that as long as one gets his or her work done nobody should be judged by how he or she gets her work done or by going off on the dot as we are all special in our own ways and thus do up our work differently. But sadly, this only happens in the ideal world or probably only considered and practised by respected and matured individuals.

SORRY PEOPLE JUST DONT ENTRUST YOU WORK.
WANT TO KNOW WHY?
YOU WORK FUCKING SLOW AND EVEN THOUGH YOU "CHECKED" YOUR WORK.ITS STILL LADEN WITH MISTAKES.
IF IT WONT FOR ME RE-CHECKING YOUR STUFF, AND SAVING YOUR SORRY ASS EVERYTIME. YOUR DEAD NOW!
LETS SEE.EXAMPLES EXAMPLES.
AOE DISTRIBUTION LETTERS. YOU GIVE WRONG ADDRESS FOR 10 RESTAURANTS!
POTENTIAL VENUE HOST LIST AND PK LIST.
AND YOU SAID YOU CHECKED. WITH YOUR FUCKING EYES CLOSED?

Different working habits and styles
There would also be people who hold differing values and thus will rub one another in a way or another. It just applies in the same way where different people having different style of working as well as likes and dislikes. Just like how peiwen-a super environmentally friendly person would get irritated with me for having many copies of hardcopies of work for my convenience-easier viewing and spotting of mistakes whereas she rather have a crumpled piece of paper in the file than to reprint it and have it nicely fitted into the file. This we do not see eye to eye but I believe it is essential to accept things as such. This again highlights the importance of the acceptance of different working habits.

HA. SORRY BUT IM PROFESSIONAL. I ONLY USE RECYCLED PAPER FOR MYSELF.
UNLIKE YOU. EVERYTHING ALSO WANT COLOUR PRINTED.
AND THE FUNNIEST PART IS. YOU EVEN SUGGESTED TO USE ECO-FRIENDLY INKS AS PART OF YOUR PROJECT.
WELL FUCK YOU. WHO WAS THE ONE WHO SAID IM SUPER UNECO-FRIENDLY.
I HAVE NEVER SSEN SO MANY PEOPLE ROUND THEIR EYES AT ONCE.
SERIOUSLY I HAVE NEVER EVER MET ANYONE LIKE YOU.
YOU ARE JUST A SORRY EXCUSE FOR A COLLEAGUE.
YOU ARE A SELFISH BOOTLICKING PERSON WHO I CAN GLADLY LOATHE.
AND ONE MORE THING. I AM FUCKING SICK OF YOU SAYING YOU ARE FAT. YES WE KNOW ALREADY. SO SHUT UP!

sorry people for the outburst.
